The growing ERA team brings competencies in:
- Engaging communities
- Carbon sequestration science, and biometrics
- Carbon finance, law, accounting, and program administration
- International and domestic climate policy
And provides services in:
- Forest Carbon modeling and assessments
- Forest Ecosystem restoration prescription development and program implementation
- Engaging and managing third party verification and validation (ISO, CCB, & VCS)
Working with local communities, landowners, and other stakeholders, ERA engages carbon-finance to restore degraded forest ecosystems. This work is carried out at no cost to the community. ERA's team consults with the landowner and other stakeholders during all stages of the process to ensure that land management and restoration objectives are being met.
The development of an ecosystem restoration program involves the following steps:
- Identifying suitable restoration sites
- Executing a carbon rights agreement with the landowner
- Conducting biometrics to determine site productivity
- Developing a Project Design Document (PDD)
- Having the PDD and methodology validated to ISO 14064-2, CBA, &/or VCS
- Developing and implementing restoration prescriptions
- Securing verification of tonnes
In addition to addressing all of these requirements, ERA ensures the maintenance and monitoring of these sites at no cost to the community.
