Metro Vancouver Parks

Over the past four years, ERA and Metro Vancouver began meeting to identify potential restoration sites in Greater Vancouver's Regional District parklands.

Since 2008, ERA has planted over 15,000 trees throughout three Metro Vancouver regional parks: Campbell Valley Regional Park, Aldergrove Lake Regional Park and Matsqui Trail Regional Park.

Currently, ERA is working in Aldergrove Regional Park. To date, ERA has planted just under 4,000 trees in the park, with the goal of establishing nearly 9,500 conifer trees within the existing declining deciduous forests throughout the park. As the surrounding red alder and paper birch trees slowly die, the planted seedlings will eventually grow and continue to provide forest canopy cover along 9.5km of hiking trails and 7km of horse trails that run throughout the park.
