Field Crew Laborer
ERA is currently looking to add members to the field crews in the Fraser Valley. This position is permanent and full time.
Job Description:
Work includes: following prescriptions, mechanical removal of invasive species, planting seedlings (not commercial planting), data collection and entry. Work can be very physically demanding! It is important to be in good physical condition in order to be successful at this job.
Job Requirements:
- Self-motivated, flexible and punctual.
- Takes pride in own work.
- Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and slope conditions.
- Own vehicle for transportation - fieldwork is primarily in the lower mainland including: Langley, Maple Ridge, Mission, Aldergrove.
Desirable Experience and Knowledge:
- Ability to identify native and invasive plant species.
- Forestry/environmental background and experience.
- Demonstrates basic brush saw and power tool maintenance and safe operation.
- Preference will be given to those applying within the Fraser Valley.
Additional Information:
Hours: Full time 7:00am-3:00pm in summer
8:00am-4:00pm in fall, winter and spring
Hourly Rate: $15/hr
